As an outlet for my interest - okay, my obsession - with domestic ducks and agrarian living, the Duckstead web site has arrived! This site is the hub for musings about the ducks, their role in the interconnected, Permaculture-inspired design of our little plot of land, and a source for books, merchandise, podcasts, e-books and videos on related topics. My first book, "Carmella, Where Is Your Quack?" is intended to be for reading aloud to young children, or for young readers (or adults who just want an easy read about sweet ducks). Follow Up - Mud Paint

First coat dried It's a couple of days later, and the paint has dried to a nice gray. I did not use enough, or a dark enough pigment. I reckon that either more and darker pigment will help, or a much much lighter clay slip, or a clay that is the color I want the wall. I also need to decide whether to proceed using the damp sponge method or the burnishing method. With the cold weather and duck management being a bit out of the ordinary right now, the next coat of paint will wait. That will give me some time to make my decision.
